This month, Redbud Elementary proudly launched our very first Best Buddies Chapter, expanding opportunities for inclusion, connection, and friendship on our campus. Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to building meaningful relationships between students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Our chapter kicked off with a Meet & Greet in the Makerspace, where students came together to socialize, get to know one another, and officially begin their journey as chapter members. Families were invited to complete the membership application, and we were excited to see such strong participation and enthusiasm from our community.
Through Best Buddies, Redbud students will participate in inclusive activities and social-emotional learning experiences that foster acceptance, belonging, and one-to-one friendships. We are thrilled to bring this program to our campus and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our students and school culture.
